Start BrowsingQGIS Institute is a proposed independent training and skills-assessment initiative being developed and operated by BeinCert Certifications S.L.
The initiative is currently at a preliminary development. Its purpose is to support professionals, students, educators and organisations seeking structured learning and independent assessment of practical skills involving QGIS and open-source geospatial technologies.
BeInCert Certifications S.L. is developing the initiative with the contribution of professionals experienced in geomatics, QGIS training, educational technology and competency assessment. The project is initially focused on supporting skills development in Africa and the Middle East, with the possibility of serving other regions at a later stage.
Our objective is to develop accessible and professionally structured learning and assessment pathways for people using QGIS in academic and professional contexts.
The proposed pathways are intended to cover different levels of competence and selected areas of geospatial practice. During the pilot stage, their educational content, assessment methods, technical delivery and candidate experience will be reviewed and improved.
Any certificates issued during this independent pilot phase will be issued solely by BeInCert Certifications S.L.
The initiative is being designed around the following principles:
QGIS is free and open-source software developed through the work of the QGIS community. Users and organisations are encouraged to learn more about the official project, contribute to its development and support its activities through QGIS.org.
QGIS Institute is an independent initiative operated by BeInCert Certifications S.L. It is not part of QGIS.org. Information concerning programmes, examination arrangements, partnerships and geographic availability will be updated as each component is formally validated and launched.
QGIS is a registered trademark of QGIS.org.
